Major
The rank of Major is a regional, upper management position. It is the ultimate authority to make command decisions on behalf of the company within the assigned
region. Generally this position is administrative in nature although supervisory responsibilities may be included. In a planning capacity, the Major assists
the Project Manager in determining requirements and feasibilities of project proposals’ time frames, funding, limitations and staffing as well as resource
allocations required to meet the proposed goals. Subsequently, the Major plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of all projects to ensure that goals
and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. He/she establishes work plans and staffing for each phase of project and
assigns project personnel. Of primary importance is both the clear and concise communication of those plans to subordinates and continuous monitoring of their
progress in meeting satisfying those plans within budget. That is accomplished by regular review of status reports and adjustments made as needed. Collective
status reports are consolidated for summary dissemination to upper management, clients, regulators and others. May be required to perform as a consultant to
prospects, customers, regulators and others. The Major is also the only rank with authority to initiate personnel promotion, recognition, disciplinary and
termination processes. As ranking commander, each Major is responsible for ensuring that all Captains under him/her perform their duties with honor and distinction.
Captain
A Captain is a middle management position that incurs all of the project planning, monitoring, reporting and supervisory duties of a Major, but at a project or
multi-project level. The Captain must understand the directives and goals of a Major, work with Lieutenants to implement those commands and then monitor and report
to the Major on achievement progress, risk of failure and actual failures. The Captain makes recommendations for improvement, increased efficiency and cost
reduction. Aggregated labor hour (timesheet), incident, injury, property damage/loss, potential, perceived and actual customer dispute resolution, Daily Activity and other
reports are to be consolidated and approved by the Captain before forwarding them to the Major. Captains also forward formal recommendations for personnel promotion,
recognition, discipline and termination to the Major. When the Major is unavailable, a Captain will be designated to also assume all of the Major's responsibilities. As
senior commander, each Captain is responsible for ensuring that all Captains under him/her perform their duties with honor and distinction.
Lieutenant
A Lieutenant is a lower management position that incurs all of the project planning, monitoring, reporting and supervisory duties of a Captain, but at a shift or multi-shift
level. The Lieutenant must understand the directives and goals of a Captain, work with Sergeants to implement those commands and then monitor and report to the Captain on
achievement progress, risk of failure and actual failures. The Lieutenant makes recommendations for improvement, increased efficiency and cost reduction. Aggregated labor
hour (timesheet), incident, injury, property damage/loss, potential, perceived and actual customer dispute resolution, Daily Activity and other reports are to be consolidated
and approved by the Lieutenant before forwarding them to the Captain. Lieutenants also forward formal recommendations for personnel promotion, recognition, discipline and
termination to the Captain. When the Captain is unavailable, a Lieutenant will be designated to also assume all of the Captain's responsibilities. As a commander, each
Lieutenant is responsible for ensuring that all Sergeants under him/her perform their duties with honor and distinction.
Sergeant
As a first-line supervisor, a Sergeant is primarily responsible for the orderly dissemination of duties to Guards, monitoring Guards for their proficiency in effecting those
directives and reporting to the Lieutenant all assigned duty success and failure. Sergeants coach Guards on best practices towards fulfilling their duties, provide safety, technical
and tactical advice to the Guards and reach out to their Lieutenant for assistance when needed. The Sergeant also notifies the Lieutenant of Guard needs such as supplies, forms,
equipment, uniforms, etc. as well as Guard infractions such as absenteeism, tardiness, behavior and grooming issues, missing, incomplete or incorrect reports, etc. When the Lieutenant
is unavailable, a Sergeant will be designated to also assume all of the Lieutenant's responsibilities. As a supervisor, each Lieutenant is responsible for ensuring that all Guards
under him/her perform their duties with honor and distinction.
Guard II
The Guard II position is an experienced Security Officer, certified and licensed by the applicable governing authority. They may or may not be armed (commissioned). In general, they
patrol assigned territories to protect encompassed persons and property from damage and loss. This is done through regular and frequent tours through buildings and property of clients –
examining doors, windows and gates to assure they are secured. They inspect burglar alarms, monitoring systems, fire suppression equipment and other security/safety devices for
soundness. Guards are sometimes required to check vehicles and personal belongings for compliance with client directives. Every infraction, weakness and anomaly discovered in those duties
is to be recorded within appropriate reports and reported to the Sergeant. The continuous production of Daily Activity, timesheet, logs and other reports is also required. Although primarily
a "observe and report" deployment, sometimes unauthorized persons are apprehended when safe to do so. Police/emergency personnel are summoned when appropriate. As the face of the company,
Guards must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance at all times. Reliable transportation and a cell phone are also required. Personal fitness with an emphasis on strength,
endurance and conflict resolution is highly recommended.
Guard I
An entry-level position, our Guard I personnel are no less important to us than any other rank. They are expected to perform all Guard II duties and are obligated to meet all Guard II
responsibilities (see the Guard II job description). Guard I personnel are given guidance and support when needed and encouraged to further their career with support and training. Typically
unarmed, applicants should possess some ability to control physical confrontations with calming, reasoned psychology and/or non-lethal force. A well-kept appearance, reliable transportation
and cell phone are required.
Court Security Officer
Maintains order in courtroom during trail and guards jury from outside contact. Checks courtroom for security and cleanliness. Assures availability of sundry supplies for use of Judge. Enforces
courtroom rules of and retains unauthorized firearms from persons entering the courtroom. Stops people from entering courtroom while the Judge charges jury and as instructed. Provides
jury escort to restaurants and other areas outside of courtroom to prevent jury contact with public. Guards lodging of sequestered jury. Reports need for police or medical assistance to sheriff’s
office or other designee. May advise attorneys of dress required of witness. May announce entrance of Judge.
Private Investigators
This service involves investigating and collecting information for persons as well as businesses. These investigations may involve insurance claims, frauds, surveillance, background checks, businesses'
due diligence investigations, theft prevention and an array of other matters.
Executive Protection Agent
Escorts individuals to protect then from bodily injury, kidnapping, theft or invasion of privacy. May perform other duties, such as receiving and transcribing dictation or driving motor vehicle to
transport individuals as needed.
Personal Protection
This service involves the protection of persons and sometimes animals. This could be children who fear that they may be kidnapped, entertainers or high profile persons. Sometimes it’s an animal of
significant value.
Corrections Officer
Guards inmates confined to a penal institution in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures. Observes conduct and behavior of inmates to prevent disturbances, and escapes. Inspects
locks, window bars, grills, doors, and directs inmates during work assignments. Patrols assigned areas for evidence of forbidden activities, infraction of rules, and unsatisfactory attitude or adjustment
of prisoner. Reports observations to superior(s). Escorts weapons or inmates to and from visiting rooms, medical offices, religious services and other areas including via large or small vehicles. May
guard entrance of jail to screen visitors. May prepare written report(s) concerning the institution in the capacity of Federal, State, County or City Corrections Officer, Guard or Deputy as designated
by the client.
Detention Officer
Guards persons detained at police station houses and detention rooms pending hearings, court or transfer to penal institutions. Responsible for inmates' well-being while detained. Searches detainees
for weapons, contraband, drugs, and other harmful articles. Cares for and administers to detainees who are sick or injured. Accompanies prisoners to court and remain with them until case has been
disposed of. May observe inmates in cell to assure prisoners well being and adhere to rules and regulations.
Alarm Monitor
Operates municipal fire alarm system, radio transmitter and receiver, and telephone switchboard: Receives incoming fire calls by telephone or through
alarm system. Questions caller, observes alarm register that codes location of fire, and scans map of city to determine whether fire is located within
area served by city fire department. Determines types and number of units to respond to emergency. Notifies fire station, using radio and starts alarm
system that automatically contacts all fire stations and indicates location of fire. Relays messages from scene of fire, such as request for additional
help and medical assistance. Records date, time, type of call and destination of messages received or transmitted. Maintains activity, code, and locator
files. Tests various communications systems and reports malfunctions to maintenance units. May operate telegraph to relay code as back up if transmitter
fails.
Central Station/Alarm Monitoring
These persons monitor systems designed to detect criminal activity, fires, safety conditions and other related conditions.
Parking Aide
Parking Aids are used to assist patrons in parking their vehicles on private parking lots. The primary objectives of the aids are to assist vehicles
with entering the lots, maximize the use of available space when parking and facilitate the free movement of vehicles after they are all parked. They
remain on the lots as monitors. If there is an unusual incident they notify security that will take appropriate action.
Ticket Takers
These persons collect tickets at sport events, entertainment events, and other locations where tickets are sold to patrons and used to gain entry to the event.
Project Manager
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time
frame and funding parameters: Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time framer, funding, limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing
requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges
for of assignment of project personnel. Have the authority to initiate termination process for personnel under their command. Confers with project staff to
outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority. Directs and coordinates activates of project personnel to ensure project
progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares
project reports for management, client, or others. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. May coordinate project
activate with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
Assistant Project Manager
Performs the duties of the Project Manager when he/she is on day off or leave or not available. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated
project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters: Reviews project proposal or plan
to determine time framer, funding, limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various
phases of project. Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment of assignment of project personnel. . Have the
authority to initiate termination process for personnel under their command. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties,
responsibilities and scope of authority. Directs and coordinates activates of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed
budget. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or
others. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. May coordinate project activate with activities of government
regulatory or other governmental agencies.
Security Consultant
Included in this service is risk assessment both criminal and safety, security surveys, crisis planning, crime prevention training and computer and system
design for the prevention of crime.
Security Clerk
Complies and maintains records of firm’s securities transactions: Reviews statements of transactions such as purchases and sale of securities,
compare sites with records to verify accuracy, and enters details in journals. Computers amounts, such as cash balances, dividends, gain or loss,
and other investment data to verify accuracy of records, using adding machine, and reconciles discrepancies. Distributes investment income to various
accounts, according to budgeted percentages, to compile investment journals. Computes amounts to determine cash position of various accounts and
prepares voucher to transfer funds needed to meet payments due.
Customer Service Representative
Acts as a liason between security management, officers, guards and the customer. Fields communications, routes them to the appropriate recipient if not handled
personally, finds answers and generally tries to enhance the customer experience as much as possible.
Desk Clerk
The desk clerks answer telephones, have visitors sign in, provided information, make notifications in emergency and non-emergency situation, may provide limited clerical duties and or other functions.
